Casual and beautifully maintained, our Smoky Mountain Bed and Breakfast is filled with old-fashioned charm and modern amenities. Open year 'round, the Inn offers three floors of guest rooms each with a distinct personality and thoughtfully decorated by the owners from upstairs rooms with private balconies and mountain vistas, to romantic ground floor rooms with flagstone floors and low pressed-tin ceilings.
The Folkestone Inn is just one-quarter mile from the Deep Creek entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Within five minutes you can be walking easy trails to three pristine waterfalls, fishing for mountain trout, or splashing down Deep Creek in an oversized inner tube.
Nearby Bryson City is home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, arts and crafts galleries, antique shops and a surprising variety of restaurants for a small mountain town. Just down the road you’ll find rafting on the Nantahala River, mountain biking Tsali trails, fishing and boating on Fontana Lake, hiking any of the miles of trails in the Smokies, and great scenic drives like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway or Tail of the Dragon.
Rates range from $94 to $163 a night for two people, breakfast included. Enjoy Café Cartago coffee with specialties such as omelets with fresh vegetables from our organic garden , pancakes with fresh local blueberries, and French toast stuffed with bananas and walnuts. A light breakfast (fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal) is always available on request; and we can accommodate vegetarian diets or most food allergies with prior notice.
The Folkestone Inn is one hour west of Asheville, just three hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, and two hours from Greenville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
We choose to be inspected and rated by the NCBBI Association. We just received 100% rating and the following comment: "This has been a most positive inspection. The overall condition & level of guest comforts and amenities WAY above norm!! Exceeds expectations!"
Polar Express guests During November and December, we welcome children age five and older. However, since not all rooms will accommodate additional guests, arrangements must be made in advance of your stay.
Excellent Bed and Breakfast. We have stayed in many places and this is the best.
